We have too many deer and coyotes on the roads?

When I was very young men went hunting. We ate the deer meat. Coyotes were shot and then hung on fences for all to see. They even gave out money because the coyotes ate the farmers chickens. Now I have seen many car accidents from the deer on the roadways and other problems with coyotes. What do you think would make this better?
